My Journey
Every journey is unique, and my path to healing from digestive and mental health challenges began early in life. Though I was breastfed and had robust digestion as a child, chronic stress and anxiety began to impact me as a young teenager. Moving to a new school at 13 brought intense stress, culminating in daily panic attacks so debilitating that I had to be home-schooled.
During this time, I developed acne and was prescribed antibiotics for several years. While these helped my skin, they wreaked havoc on my gut health. Antibiotics, especially long-term, disrupt the delicate balance of gut bacteria, a lesson I wish I had known earlier. My anxiety eased somewhat after leaving school, but new challenges arose when I started taking the contraceptive pill at 19. This exacerbated my anxiety, triggered severe digestive symptoms, and led to recurrent infections and fatigue.
A turning point came when I began questioning the conventional treatments offered. Instead of accepting another prescription, I trusted my instincts and sought a more holistic approach. I discovered Erica White’s Beat Candida Cookbook, which introduced me to the connection between diet, gut health, and overall well-being. By cutting out sugars, processed foods, and yeast, and focusing on supplements to heal my gut, I experienced a dramatic improvement. My digestion normalized, acne cleared, and panic attacks diminished.
Years later, my journey deepened with insights from orthomolecular medicine, which focuses on healing through nutrients like vitamins and minerals. Blood tests revealed I had elevated copper levels and deficiencies in zinc and B6, contributing to a condition known as pyrrole disorder. These imbalances explained my long-standing symptoms, from mental health challenges to food intolerances. Understanding and addressing these root causes brought me profound relief and clarity.
This personal transformation inspired me to train as a nutritional therapist. Today, I specialise in helping clients with digestive and mental health challenges through my three-point plan: dietary adjustments, lifestyle changes, and targeted nutritional supplements. Clean eating, meditation, cold showers, breathing exercises, and acupuncture are part of my daily routine to maintain balance and vitality.
Holistic healing takes time, but it is deeply rewarding. My mission is to empower others to take control of their health, just as I did. With the knowledge I’ve gained and the strategies I share, I’m confident you can achieve lasting wellness. Your journey may be challenging, but it’s worth every step.
I qualified as a nutritional therapist 15 years ago and discovered that sound nutrition can significantly improve most conditions.
In my practice, I noticed that about 90% of clients with digestive issues also experienced mental health challenges, often anxiety or depression. As their digestion improved, their mental health typically followed, highlighting the powerful connection between the gut and brain. This insight fueled my fascination with the gut-brain link and inspired the creation of my three-point plan, a holistic approach to addressing both digestive and mental health.

One of the best ways to achieve equilibrium in both body and mind is to eat a healthy diet full of nutrient-dense foods while removing nutritionally deficient ones. Eating the wrong foods for you can trigger both digestive and emotional symptoms.

Lifestyle factors such as stress, unhappiness, loneliness and a lack of self-care can also cause digestive and emotional troubles. Simple lifestyle changes such as relaxation techniques, positive thinking, group activities and nurturing oneself can have huge health benefits.

Supplements are just what their name suggests – they supplement a healthy diet by aiding digestion, healing the gut and correcting deficiencies. Anyone with digestive troubles or high stress levels is unlikely to be absorbing all of the vitamins and minerals from their food.
